Turriff Dental Care 2019 Mile Challenge · 16 September 2019

The Sandpiper Trust provides emergency medical equipment for trained medical professionals in remote parts of Scotland. Our aim is to save lives across Scotland; lives which might otherwise have been lost because it’s not always possible for emergency treatment to be administered quickly enough.

Story

The staff at Turriff Dental Care have taken up the challenge of walking, running, cycling or rowing a distance of 2019 miles from September to December 2019 to raise money for the Sandpiper Trust!

The Sandpiper Trust is a group of volunteer Cardiac Responders who aim to save lives, which otherwise may have been lost, as it is not always possible for emergency treatment to be administered quickly enough in rural areas.

With no early warning signs, cardiac arrest can affect anyone at any age. CPR and a defibrillator shock are required to return the heart to the normal rhythm. A shock administered withing 3-5 minutes of arrest can produce survival rates as high as 75%. The community based responders are able to provide this life saving treatment within those crucial minutes ahead of the arrival of the ambulance service.

Over the next couple of months we are hoping to beat our own personal fitness targets, as well as our fundraising target of £2019! If you can help support us by making a donation, or perhaps sponsor us per mile, we promise to make every blister worth it!

Thank you from everyone at Turriff Dental Care for reading our story and supporting this great cause.
