Story

Latest News: We did it!!!!! started out at 9pm from Guildhall & after various stops (see below for details of the route) we arrived back at Guildhall 20 miles later (or rather 21 miles as we got lost in Fulham!) at 6am!! Amazing London the city that never sleeps- we saw it all! Fantastic experience. Was great to see Maggies centre at hammersmith hospital- such a lovely warm setting all centred around a large kitchen table.... enjoyed lots of sandwiches & crisps at 3:30am at the serpentine Pavilion in Hyde Park- all a bit surreal! Was a huge relief to get to Horseguards (17.2 miles) & have a pic with a young guardsman! Heard Horseguards bell chime 5am & read very poignant messages all lit up in white bags in heart shape (see photo) which spurred us on for the last 2.8 miles!.... had slowed down by this point up, but did speed up once St Pauls in sight and we made it to Guildhall for dead on 6am!

Huge thank you to everyone who has sponsored us- so great to have raised this much which will mean a lot to Maggies

 -------------------------------------------------------------------ROUTE.........

We’ll be starting at 9:15pm at Guildhall in the city. We first walk to Channel 4 building in Westminster then onto Argentine Ambassador's Residence &  Royal Geographical Society in Kensington.. next we hike from Kensington to Hammersmith to drop in & see Maggies cancer centre at Hammersmith Hospital  then back into central London to Royal society of medicine in Wimpole St & Royal Institute of British Architects in Portland Place. From there we walk to Whitehall to for our last stop at Horseguards before crawling back to Guildhall!

We hope to do 3 mph so with stops the 20 mile hike will take 7-8  hours!! So our finish time target is sometime around 4:30am-5am!!!!

Maggies centres are a place to turn to with any problems large or small relating to cancer. They offer people the time and space to talk & get advice in a non medical setting... in fact in amazing buildings There are currently 9 centres across the UK with more planned...

The money we  raise will help Maggie's reach it's goal of opening six new Cancer Centres across the UK by 2012 and support the running costs of the existing centres

Maggie’s Centres cost around £350,000 per annum to run and all services are free.

So please support us by giving generously to Maggies!.
