Story
I am Adrian Presswood's niece and on behalf of the Presswood family we would like to raise as much money as possible for Brain Tumour patients and their families as a tribute to my Uncle Ady's battle.
The Cancer Support Centre was a massive help to my Uncle who was diagnosed with a rare Grade 4 Brain Tumour and sadly lost his 18 month battle with Glioblastoma Multiforme in October 2015, aged 52 after going through multiple surgeries and treatments. Due to the nature of his illness it meant that the support given by the centre was invaluable. The Cancer Support Centre which is based at Weston Park Sheffield; offer support for Cancer patients including those suffering with Brain Tumours with counselling, Welfare and administration help as well as offering complimentary therapies. The Centre helped with things you wouldn't even think of and made the tough times a little bit easier for him. The Centre also helps partners and the families of those affected by cancer and were always at the end of the phone if my Uncle or his Wife needed it.
When Uncle Adrian was on the high dependency unit there was a little girl also suffering with the same strain of the disease; this makes us even more determined to raise enough money to support brain tumour patients and their families as it can affect anyone.
For anyone who doesn't know my Uncle Adrian he was hardworking, down to earth and funny. Even during the toughest times he kept smiling and got on with it. He was an avid Chesterfield FC supporter and loved playing golf. We miss him so much already but we are beyond proud of the bravery and courage he showed.
Any donations are gratefully received and will really make a difference to the work done by the amazing people at the Cancer Support Centre. As a thank you to the amazing nurses, doctors and support network he was involved with we would like to continually raise money for the cause in Sheffield and across the UK.
