Last Christmas, staff in the Faculty of Management, Law and Social Sciences contributed to Bradford Cinderella Club Shoebox Appeal.  Like many charities, Bradford Cinderella Club continues to find this year a challenge within the context of Covid-19. 

We are pleased to see the charity's ‘Crash Pad’ was officially opened in February 2020, which is a unique facility in Little Germany, used by those working with and caring/supporting disadvantaged children within the Bradford Metropolitan area.  The facility provides a caring family environment, where a professional carer can spend quality time with a child who is uncared-for/at risk, or generally needing a place to stay away from their current home conditions for a couple of nights – a safe place to ‘crash’ in warmth and safety. 

Bradford Cinderella Club is preparing 1,000 shoeboxes for
distribution to underprivileged children this Christmas and continues to support children throughout the year with its recently launched 'crash pad' and their ‘cards for care’.  These cards are credited with money to enable ‘professionals’ who are working with underprivileged children to purchase essentials for children in their care such as socks/vests/toiletries etc.  Bradford Cinderella Club also provides support to community groups, youth clubs, hostels and other locally based charities who work the disadvantaged children.

We are keen to support Bradford Cinderella Club this year as part of our ongoing commitment to support our local community and would welcome any donation you feel you are able to offer, as we take this time to reflect on those who are not as fortunate as ourselves.
