As I’m sure you know, we're the only charity in the UK for people affected by pituitary conditions. We are a continued source of support to patients and their families in their hour of need.  Now, we find ourselves in our hour of need and vitally need your support.

The I.T. infrastructure that we have in place in terms of server, networking, monitors and PC terminals is no longer fit for purpose. We urgently need to upgrade our entire I.T. infrastructure or risk critical consequences. 

The systems that we currently use will be unfit for the purposes that we need them as of January 2020. This could have many devastating consequences, each of which in turn could mean us supporting less pituitary patients, not through choice but through sheer inability to perform our duties, something we dearly want to avoid.

With the I.T. systems no longer fit for purpose it would mean that we would be unable to update the website, which is the main point of contact for new patients. It would also mean that we could not operate our database and as such running a telephone helpline would be virtually impossible as our helpline and indeed everything that we do on a daily basis is run via the I.T. infrastructure. 

We celebrate our 25^th anniversary this year and for those of you who
have been receiving support for many years it will almost be like stepping back 25 years if we are unable to make the vital upgrades that we require.  

Shopping list 

£128 could help us purchase a new monitor (4 donations of £32 would cover the cost of one)

£890 would allow us to purchase one new PC terminal - 20 people donating £45 cover the cost of one. We require eight

Tower Server costs £9,770. 100 donations of £97.70 would enable us to purchase this 

A £15 donation from 20 individuals would allow us to cover the cost of the engineering implementation

PLEASE NOTE:  In the unlikely event that we raise too much money from this appeal then all funds above what is needed to cover the cost of the IT upgrade will be used to fund core services such as the Endocrine Nurse Helpline, Telephone Support Helpline and Text Support Service.
