Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my
JustGiving page dedicated to raising money for a great charity, Phab,
by running the Virgin London Marathon 2010.
Phab
is a national charity dedicated to the integration of people with and
without physical disabilities in the community. It has provided support
and services for its members since 1957, enabling disabled people to
enjoy the same opportunities and challenges as able-bodied and bring
them together on equal terms.
Phab has a network of around
200 integrated junior, youth and adult clubs throughout England.
Activities range from sailing and orienteering to theatre visits and
quiz evenings. By meeting on equal terms, members appreciate and
respect one another as individuals, irrespective of any differences or
disabilities.
The objects and the aims of the Phab organisation
have remained the same for 50 years, they are probably more relevant
today than at any time in its existence. The Charity's long-held
philosophy of bringing together people with and without physical
disabilities on equal terms bears remarkable similarity of aim to the
new promotion of social inclusion.
Although much has been
achieved for disabled people since the 'Year of the Disabled' in 1981,
there is still a long way to go before they are fully integrated within
our society. Phab's aim is to do just that.

I've never run a marathon before but have done various other distances for charities in the past. I've already started my training and aim to not only finish the marathon, but do so in a respectable time. Please support me in raising money for this great cause, dig deep and donate now.
The person who makes the highest donation gets to decide my outfit for the race!
