We’re the UK’s leading charity for Crohn’s and Colitis. Right now, over 500,000 people in the UK are living with a lifelong disease that many people have never heard of. We’re working to improve diagnosis and treatment; to fund research and to raise awareness.

Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit our JustGiving page.

2 years on............. as you can read below in 2011 we didn't manage to make it to the start line!!  BUT....now on 6th April 2013 we shall be at Lands End on our bicycles... we shall head noth with a southerly wind and see how far we get... may Bristol...maybe Carlisle....maybe John O'Groats.. We don't know how long it will take...maybe 3 weeks...maybe 3 months...maybe 3 years!!!   Please give generously as NACC is a very worthwhile charity and this is a very real challenge that we are doing!!!

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

We were planning to cycle from Lands End to John O'Groats in May 2011 (leaving Land's End on 30th April, early afternoon)  to raise funds for Colitis & Crohn's UK (NACC)

You may be aware that Vicky has had health problems over the last few weeks and unfortunately we are having to postpone this ride until a much later date.

So we decided to cycle the Hadrians Cycleway instead. It is about 175 miles long and runs from Ravenglass to South Shields.

So on Wednesday 4th May, we set off from Ravenglass northwards along the coast to Bowness on Solway, via Cockermouth and Silloth. Then we turned eastwards following HadriansWall through Carlisle, Brampton, Gilsland, Haltwistle, Hexham, Corbridge, Newcastle and finishing by crossing the Tyne in a ferry from North to South Shields on Saturday 7th. We stayed in some lovely Bed & Breakfasts along the way and the weather was quite kind for us.

Vicky has suffered from Colitis for 15 years and knows what a brilliant charity NACC is.
