Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
In October 2013, my beloved Grandpapa (pictured) passed away having battled silently, valiantly and without complaint, the onset and deterioration in his health. After all he'd been through as a Lancaster bomber and Mosquito pilot during WW2, the diagnosis of Parkinson's might not have been a shock, but the nature of the condition, and how it came to affect him was. I will be undertaking a wing walk in April in his memory.
I will also be doing this in honour of my aunt Jenny who, several decades younger than my Grandpapa, is having a very different battle with this condition.
One in 500 people HAS Parkinson's at this moment. Yet we don't know why ... and there's no cure on the horizon for the progressive deterioration it brings. I felt it was time to do something ...
I once believed that I was scared of flying, not something I confessed to Grandpapa!, but having overcome this I knew I wanted to do something that would take me to great heights ... so what could be more natural than a Wing Walk?!?!
Thank you for your time, and I do hope that you will consider sponsoring me. Whilst I may appear fearless, I assure you my knees will be trembling as my heart soars high on Sunday 19th April 2015.
