Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
During this past Winter I have been working with an Australian friend helping to promote his talks on PTSD and Depressive disorders.
It is through dealing with that, that I found out about the brilliant work Arc in Taunton have done, providing new facilities for homeless ex-servicemen with Victory House.
Over 7000 ex service personnel were estimated homeless across the UK in 2018, despite Government changes relating to how local authorities should be helping them , there is genuinely a lack of housing. And some of our ex service personnel find themselves on the streets.
This is where Victory house comes in.
Arc Inspire have recently converted a previously used office building into a safe and secure accommodation for 8 people, also providing them with extra support and assistance towards rehabilitation and recovery.
On a recent visit to Victory House to meet the guys and the support team, I witnessed that one of the clients, Rob, had to be physically carried up the stairs to get to the meeting room because there is no wheelchair access.
We hope to improve on this situation.
Rob will be joining Alison and myself on the Skydive at Dunkeswell, Skydive.buzz on the 14th July 2019.
Please help us to support them by raising the funds required by Arcinspire's Victory House to provide the ramps and stair lift to make this excellent and much needed facility fully accessible for all disabled residents.
Thank you.
