For the last 5 years I have been taking part in a Race 4 Life 5K run and this year managed to improve my personal best by 3 minutes (now 27 mins and 31 secs).  

This got me thinking that perhaps I ought to increase the challenge, and low and behold the project team that I had been working with had decided to take part in the Great South Run. 10 miles around Portsmouth!! A definite increase on the 5K.

The project team are supporting Cancer Research but as my Uncle Peter had just had a stroke, I have chosen The Stroke Association.

I have managed to get some training in. Sometimes alone and sometimes accompanying a colleague, Paul Lockyer. Who can definitely run further and faster then me but who has also pushed me harder than I would've done running alone. Thanks Paul!  

I can now run 7 miles and have only a few weeks left but pretty certain I will make it and would really love it if you could sponsor me.
