We supply specialist equipment to improve the lives of disabled children

Story

Strength doesn't come from what you can do.
It comes from overcoming the things you once thought you couldn't.

Disabled children and their families face challenges everyday which they have to overcome. The Sunshine Fund supports disabled children in the North East of England by providing specialist equipment to improve their lives and enable them to overcome their challenges, making the impossible possible and enriching their lives. YOUR DONATION GOES STRAIGHT TO THE SUNSHINE FUND TO MAKE THIS POSSIBLE! The equipment eg powered wheelchairs, enhanced seating, specialised IT equipment is not provided by the NHS or social services,  and is often prohibitively expensive for the families.

To raise funds for the Sunshine Fund I am taking blind people trekking in the mountains of India

Imagine trekking up a mountain when you are blind? You cannot see ... but you can feel the warmth of the sun on your back and the wind in your face, you can hear the crunch of the gravel under your feet and each breath you take, you can smell the fragrances in the air, you can listen to the footsteps of your teammates and to the birds singing ... and your guide leads you onward and upward ... every step takes you closer to the top ... and achieving your goal. And then you are there ... at the top of a mountain ...your guide describing the views. You have made it ... Your guide has led you there ... you have overcome things you once thought you couldn't ... together you have made the impossible happen!

So a twofold challenge .. making the impossible possible in India to make the impossible possible in the North East of England!

Why the challenge? I am lucky enough to be fit and healthy and have absolute respect for these children who overcome challenges every day. I am also aware of how precious sight is having watched my pet Labrador go blind due to diabetes.
