Story
About Amelia
Amelia was born at 33 weeks and 2 days (out of 40 weeks for a "normal" pregnancy) by emergency cesaerean section. She weighed just 2lbs 13oz (1.275kg for you metric converts) and was taken straight to the neonatal special care facility at Walsgrave (or, as the management now call it, University Hospitals of Coventry and Warwickshire).
After several days with breathing support, and a couple of weeks in an incubator, she came home just in time for Christmas.
Information from Bliss, and later more direct contact, were invaluable to us as a family at this stressful time.
About John, and the WWC.
Even Amelia knows that Daddy (John to most other people) is a bit bonkers. Nowhere is that more obvious than his choice of commuting vehicle... a recumbent (lying down) pedal tricycle made by ICE.
The Wild Wales Challenge is a shorter cycle than previous efforts, at "just" 85 miles, but it is rather hillier, with 10 thousand feet of vertical ascent (close to the 12 thousand needed to climb Everest from base camp)
