Walking for Words

Thank you so much to everyone who sponsored us. We walked from Greenwich to Ricmond and it turned out to be 26.5 miles, not counting all the extra wrong turns - it is much easier than you think to loose a large blue river. It was a fantastic walk through the heart of London ending up in leafy Richmond.

Thank you for all your supportive messages and donations we exceded our target of £2,000 with no blisters.

Discover is the UK’s first hands-on creative literacy centre for children aged.5 0-11 ears and their families/carers, providing a ear-round programme of arts activities, learning opportunities and creative events with a focus on stories.  The five East London Boroughs that Discover serves are among the ’s poorest and most disadvantaged: Newham, Tower Hamlets, , Barking and Dagenham and Hackney, all of which have some of the highest rates of child poverty in the . 

Discover focuses on stories, language and literac, and is designed to nurture and support creativit and imagination so children and adults alike can develop their potential.  B encouraging children to develop their imagination and creativit at an earl age they  la the foundations for successful learning at school.  Discover’s emphasis on language and stor-building enables both children and famil members to communicate more easil and develop better English language skills.
