Story
Following the great amount of money raised through our walk and auction, a further £1,493.00 was raised at a second auction in London on 16th December with the great support of Chelsea Rotary Club, all going to Hounds for Heroes. My thanks to Phillip Knapper and his colleagues for their great help and generous bidding!
I do have two valuable paintings left to auction, and I hope that in the New Year these will also bring in further funds. Many thanks to everyone for their support!
Nick and I are hiking the Wayfarers Walk on 3 - 4 May 2013. The long-distance national trail is 72 miles, stretching over the downs from Berkshire to Emsworth in Hampshire. We're doing it non-stop - no rest, no sleep, just three 20 minute food stops manned by friends. With this exception, the hike is unsupported and we'll be doing it alone.
We aim to complete in 27 hours or under.
We're not athletes, just ordinary guys who want to give as much support as we can to the marvellous work of Hounds for Heroes who make such a positive difference to the lives of disabled men and women of the armed forces and the emergency services. It costs approximately £20,000 through the lifetime of one assistance dog, but the benefits are immeasurable. We've got to help them out.
The hike will be followed on Sunday 5th May by an auction at The Blue Lagoon, Hilsea Portsmouth from 1300 hrs - please attend if you're able.
We would be so grateful if you could sponsor us in what will be a tough test of endurance.
Many thanks from Nick and Andy to the kind people of The Business Growth Network - Petersfield for all their support and kind donations. If you'd like to contact them (and we recommend you do) please visit www.bgnetwork.co.uk
