Story
Throughout August, the students and staff of Wilson House at Hale School will be participating in the 65 Roses Challenge for Cystic Fibrosis. The students have opted to raise awareness and funds for CFWA as one of our Year 11 students, Indie Oakley, has Cystic Fibrosis. We will be aiming to run, ride or swim 65km throughout the month to raise funds for CFWA.
Cystic Fibrosis (CF) is one of the most common, autosomal recessive, life-limiting diseases affecting children and adults in Australia. It causes thick, sticky mucus which affects the lungs and digestive system.
At present, there is no cure for CF. However, babies born with CF today can expect to live well into adulthood as CF becomes a more manageable disease due to advances in research and new treatments. Funds that we hope to raise will go towards this research and the necessary equipment, medications, treatments and therapies that people living with CF need.
