So after previously cycling 52 miles around London and wondering what all the fuss was about we've now decided to go national and climb the three highest peaks in England, Wales and Scotland in under 24 hours. Challenging you might think........stupid I say!! We're going to attempt this starting at 5pm on Sunday 13th June 2010 so we need to be at the bottom of Mt Snowdon by 5pm on Monday afternoon!
Just to give you a better idea of what we'll be attempting here's some info. on what the challenge will involve. The Three Peaks Challenge involves climbing the three highest peaks, respectively, in England, Wales and Scotland, within 24 hours. The peaks are: Snowdon, in Wales (1085 metres, 3,560 ft), Scafell Pike, in England (978 metres, 3,209 ft) and Ben Nevis, in Scotland (1344 metres, 4,409 ft). In all the challenge involves 26 miles of ascent and descent with the total amount of travelling between peaks being 475 miles!
We have chosen Great Ormond Street Children's Hospital as our charity and would be very grateful for any donations you can give to this worthwhile cause.
