Story
The Marina Dalglish Appeal was set up by the Dalglish family in 2005, after Marina’s successful treatment for breast cancer two years earlier. The charity has one simple yet powerful aim, to make a difference, to both cancer patients and to their families.
The Marina Dalglish appeal runs the larks support group every Monday for women affected by cancer. The women who attend the larks can benefit from much needed support, therapies and feel good treatments.
2 of the people taking part in this fundraising event (Nicola and Kelly) have recently been diagnosed with breast cancer and have now completed extensive radiotherapy and chemotherapy. While undergoing treatment they both massively benefited from attending the larks and for that reason a group of their friends and family have decided that we would like to take part in the Race for Life on 16th June 2019 to raise money for the Marina Dalglish Appeal so that other women can have the same support that they received from Marina and the volunteers at the larks.
