Story
2nd May update:
I did it! After several months first learning how to run, then progressing from round the block to 10km, we finally completed our 10k yesterday. It was a very early start, but encouraged by my fabulous family and wonderful friends, all four of us ran our best and completed our race. It wasn't easy - but then it wasn't meant to be, but I have definitely enjoyed my little challenge and will try and keep up the running - once the blisters have healed!
Thank you all so much for your support for me and Great Ormond Street! xx
Hi All,
For 2010 I thought I would set myself a challenge to
run 10km for Great Ormond Street.
Great Ormond Street is a charity that is very dear to
me and my family, as I’m sure most of you already know my lil’ sis Myah was
very poorly as a baby and they did a great job at looking after her and
supporting my parents. They continue to do great work and I hope this little
contribution from me (with your help) will help them to carry this on.
This run is a big challenge for me as I am not a
naturally fit person, training is going well although I nearly passed out when
I ran 5km with Jackson on Saturday, so still have a way to go!
So on 1st May I am running this 10k with 3
wonderful friends who volunteered to do it too, Jackson, Sarah and James.
Please feel free to come along and give us a cheer and have a giggle at my red
face.
With Love
Zena
Hi All,
I thought I would add a little update to let you know how my running
training is going (ha ha). Actually it is going surprisingly well at the moment,
I have joined the running club at my gym and did the sport relief 3 miles at
the weekend as a practice. After a few weeks of feeling like I am never going
to be able to run round the block let alone 10K I can run now for about half an
hour without stopping and I am more determined than ever that I will run the
whole 10km.
Wish me luck! xx(23rd March)
