Story
Ok, so here's the thing. At the beginning of 2009 me and a few of the girls from work were chatting and thought it would be a great idea to get fit. You know, a bit of 'lite' exercise whenever the mood took us. So we went out, bought some trainers, shorts, a t-shirt... and starting jogging.
We entered a few little races - a 5k here, a 10k there and rounded the year off with a half marathon in September. But then we decided to take it to the next stage and have a bash at the big one... the London 2010 Marathon.
It was a moment of impulse that has led to the purchase of yet more trainers, a few osteopath appointments to sort out a dodgy knee and - if I'm being completely honest - a slight feeling of fear as the big day gets that bit closer. Still, there's four months to go and that's enough time to pack in loads more training and yet another half marathon.
I've chosen to run for Phab Kids because it's a great charity that helps disabled people to enjoy the same opportunities and challenges as those who are able-bodied. As my dad used to say, life is about enjoying yourself, so it means a lot that children of all abilities get the chance to experience as much of life as possible and have a bit of fun along the way.
I have a huge target to raise and so it would be great if you could dig deep and donate any spare cash you have. As you kick back on the 25th April and tune in to watch the race on telly over a fry up, you can be safe in the knowledge that your money will be going to a great cause and I'll be doing everything I can to make sure I run a good time to make you all proud.
Thanks for taking the time to read this rambling plea and for your generous support xxx
