Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my Just Giving page. Please note that we have had to delay our skydive untill June.....

After experiencing first hand the effect Alzheimer’s has on not only on the people who have the condition but the family members, my friend and I wanted to contribute to Alzheimer’s society to help the ease the care of the people who suffer from it and also help the family members who also experience the effects of this awful condition.

Donating through Just Giving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with Just Giving – they’ll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they’ll send your money directly to the charity and make sure Gift Aid is reclaimed on every eligible donation by a UK taxpayer. So it’s the most efficient way to donate - I raise more, whilst saving time and cutting costs for the charity.

Carlene and I shall be bricking it! I have never even been on a roller coaster!!!!! I can not imagine standing at the edge of a plane door with no seatbelt on and holding on to the sides, and actually jumping out. I will definitely need a push...

Carlene i think will probably be on the ground by the time I have actually moved one foot closer to the edge....!

If you have never experienced Alzheimer’s before, let me tell you a little about it....

Loss of memory − for example, forgetting the way home from the shops, or being unable to remember names and places, or what happened earlier the same day. Mood changes − particularly as parts of the brain that control emotion are affected by disease. People with dementia may also feel sad, frightened or angry about what is happening to them. Communication problems − a decline in the ability to talk, read and write.
In the later stages of dementia, the person affected will have problems carrying out everyday tasks, and will become increasingly dependent on other people.

It is extremely difficult not only for the person who has the disease but for family members to watch their loved ones experience this. There is no cure currently…

My Nan has the worst form of this disease to the pint where last week she did not recognise me and thought I was one of the carers. My support goes to my mother who although has been deeply saddened by this, is such a strong and admirable person. I am so proud of her for dealing with this to the best she can.

There are thousands of people who go through this in our local areas alone, so please help them and give as much as you can afford too...

You are invited to watch the dive and have pub lunch after!

The airfield is in Headcorn, Kent and we shall be reveal the location for lunch soon...

 Thanks

Aisha and Carlene xx

So please dig deep and donate now!
