After 8 years of applying for the marathon I finally won a ballot place this year and I have chosen to run for the Parkinsons Disease Society. I chose this charity as my Gran suffered from this incurable disease. She was diagnosed as having parkinsons in her mid 50's she passed away on her 69th birthday. As the disease progressed she found the most basic of tasks difficult to acheive from eating to walking, even getting up in the mornings.

I feel that by helping to raise money for this worthwhile charity it will help towards research into finding a cure and hopefully help some of the millions of sufferers.
