Dear all, 

Alex and Chris would like to offer you the opportunity to contribute to a truly noble cause.  As many of you will already know there are many thousands that die from Cancer related illnesses every year.  In every case, it’s a cruel and unforgiving disease that ruins not just the lives of the diagnosed but has serious impacts on their families as well. 

Alex and Chris decided at the back end of 2009 that we were going to climb Kilimanjaro for charity.  We have fully funded our flights, accommodation, trek and are now looking to raise some money and awareness for Cancer Research .  100% of your donations will go towards the support of vital research that will hopefully help find cures and medicines to ease or eliminate this horrible disease. 

We chose Cancer Research because both Alex and Chris have had close family relatives that have passed away from this unfortunate illness. 

Chris' uncle suffered from inoperable cancer whilst Alex’s father passed away after a long hard struggle with the disease over 7 months. 

Chris' Story - In loving memory of David Collens

David, my uncle, was found to have a large cancer in his brain which when fully diagnosed was the most aggressive kind and inoperable.  Within a couple of weeks David was in in and was beginning to lose motor functions and was feeling increasingly fatigued.  Within 4 he was struggling to speak, and at 6 weeks he tragically passed away. 

Alex's Story - In loving memory of Christopher “Kit” Morriss

My father was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer in Feb 2005, following surgery he fought a brave battle against the disease for a further 6 months, finally succumbing in Sept 2005. His struggle against the disease is something that no one should have to endure and family members should not have to watch helplessly as their love ones desperately fight for their lives.  

We truly hope that your contributions  will make inroads in easing the suffering of current and future cancer patients and the families that have to endure the hard journey and god forbid the loss of a loved one.
