Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my fundraising page, and I hope you will be able to sponsor my Triathlon debut.

For those of you that haven’t already heard, I am competing in the London Triathlon on 8th August 2010 which takes place around the Excel Centre in Docklands. The triathlon consists of a 1,500m swim (in the Victoria Docks!), 40km cycle and if that’s not enough, a 10km run to finish me off!. What started out as a throwaway challenge from a friend, has become a very competitive event, as five other friends will also be lining up alongside me at the start. Throughout the hours of training that I have put in over the last few months (including lake swims on Saturday mornings at 6am!!), I have had the aim of raising money for a special cause.

The charity that I have chosen to support is Cherry Trees, a respite care home that looks after children with severe learning and physical disabilities. Cherry Trees is a local charity very close to my heart as Robert, my 17 year old brother, has special needs and has been going to Cherry Trees for over 10 years. I have also worked at Cherry Trees, witnessing at first hand how valuable the service is that Cherry Trees provides to each and every family. If you’d like to know more, do look at the Cherry Trees website.

Donating through Justgiving is quick, easy and totally secure. It’s also the most efficient way to sponsor me: Cherry Trees receives any sponsorship directly, and if you’re a UK taxpayer, Justgiving ensure that 25% in Gift Aid is added to your donation.

So please support Cherry Trees by sponsoring me now.
