Story

Hello Campers

In case some of you didn't already know, I will be going through the agony of my second London Marathon (its like childbirth, the pain is excruciating but you tend to forget about it as you stumble across the finish line).

The last time (April 2004), I nearly died of an asthma attack at mile 22 and a bursting bladder at mile 23 and then couldn't walk for two days afterwards - obviously the experience was so enjoyable that I'm doing it again!!

So, on the 23rd April, I can be found pounding the streets of London dressed as a Chav and shouting 'bovvered' or 'whatever minga' to anyone that will listen (seriously, I will be going dressed as a real life chav and will be called Chav Alice!!!)

In order to actually go through the experience again, I need to raise £1500. I'm fundraising for the Born Free Foundation - one of my favourite charities - which helps keep wild animals in the wild and liberate the ones that are subjected to years of incarceration and cruelty.

So, please help save all the animals and also help me as I prepare for a day of agony. I really mean it when I say that every penny helps (such a cliche!!)

Anyway, enough of the begging letter. Thank you for visiting this web page and I look forward to seeing all of you very soon (that is if I make it through 26 miles of hell....).

Keep it real, loads of love

Alicexxxx

Post Marathon Note:

Hello Fans

I just wanted to say a mahoosive thank you to all of you for being so generous with your sponsorship. I've so very nearly reached my target of £1500 but still a little bit left to go but your support has been fantastic and meant me an aweful lot.

As most of you know, I completed the London Marathon in a slimline 4hours and 45mins - managing to shave 15 mins off my last time (would have been even quicker if I hadn't stopped for a pee at mile 7)!!!

Chav Alice dressed for the occasion with full Burberry head gear and sweat bands as well as some bling earrings, bling sunglasses, bling sovereign rings and a bling necklace with the initial 'A'. Picture is attached.

The day started with a bowl of porridge, faffing and blind panic. It also rained but in a runner's world - that is a good thing. As I crossed the start line a lovely pigeon decided to unload its breakfast onto me and it's aim was perfect - a great big fat lump of bird pooh on my name badge - obliterating the word 'Chav'.

As I wiped it off it just became a big brown splodge on my running top so ended up running for 26 miles with bird pooh down me - whoever said I wasn't classy!

The first 7 miles I was scared I was going to be beaten up by the real-life east end Chavs who were cheering the runners on. Some even wore Burberry caps - imagine my fear. So I ran in the middle of the pack until I spotted a rhino and ran behind that and used him as a diversion tactic.

At mile 7 my bladder was starting to hurt so just had to stop at the portaloos, but after queuing for five mins I decided that I was wasting precious running time so spotted some strategically placed rubbish bins behind KFC. So, as any Chav would do, I went for a pee behind a bin in KFC car park!!

The rest of the race was uneventful and I crossed the finish line to the roars of 'Go on Chav Alice!!' Only five minutes behind my lovely boyfriend who had a good race too apart from the cramp.

However, the glory was short lived as I suffered a severe asthma attack and was promptly stretchered off and strapped to an oxygen tank for 20 minutes. I was presented with my medal whilst turning blue, sitting in a wheelchair!!! The only plus about the whole experience was having two St John's Amubulence men give my legs a good rub down with baby oil!!

So, thank you all once again for getting me off my bottom and into my trainers. I can just about walk again, even if I do still look like I'm laying a large egg. Your extremely generous donations are going to make a massive difference to The Born Free Foundation and will help them keep on doing all their amazing work to save the world's wildlife.

If some people still want to donate there is plenty of time, just drop me an email or log onto my special web page www.justgiving.com/alicefarmer where you can donate online.

Finally, a big thank you to the supporters who turned out on the day to cheer Rex and I on; Tanya, Froggy, Hymanator and James Bond - yo mingas, you rock!

I've also attached a picture of me at mile 23 so that you can see the Chav in action (bird pooh and all!)

Bovvered and Whatever,
Lots of love
Chav Alicexxxx
