Sarah and I are back from our Dog Sledding Adventure to Alta in the Arctic Circle.  We are STILL raising money for Multiple Sclerosis Society of Great Britain.  We thought our main challenge would be our stamina and fitness.  I was pleasantly surprised by the former, and rather hopeless at the latter. I have to say that I have probably spent too long living alone as I found group living quite hard work and it was too cold to stomp off into the darkness.

We travelled between 25 km and 60 km a day. The easiest way to stay on a dog sled is to relax, and to trust the dogs.  I did not fall off too much - mainly because the Walk of Shame was not on my agenda.  I am not sure I help the dogs out enough. Sorry Boys.

Food (always important) was good.  We gave up on lunch, but a good breakfast was important and lots of cups of tea.  Suppers were delicious and usually cooked by our musher, Per Thore (a real Viking).  Accomodation was perfectly fine.  VItal to get clothes warm and ready to go in the morning.  Loos were usually outside and at least there was no fear of one's bottom being nibbled by a scorpion.

 

We chose The Multiple Sclerosis Society because we both have friends whose lives have been completely altered by MS.  ISnce starting my fundraising,  I have been shocked how many other people have close friends and family who are affected by MS, especially here in Scotland. 

All I am asking for is a donation, given tax efficiently if possible. 

Sarah and I were lucky enough to be wrapped up in Bella di Notte silk and merino underwear.  Susan Johnson of Bella de Notte has been wonderful in supplying us with lovely warm (sexy) lingerie which does not let you smell - we are seriously spoilt.
