Hi,

For a variety of reasons (including vanity and the powers of persuasion of a friend who is also running), I've entered the Royal Parks Foundation Half Marathon, which will take place on 11 October 2009.

One key reason to run 13.1 miles, hopefully in under 2 hours, is the charity I'm running for - Railway Children (UK registered charity 1058991).  It helps children living on the streets around the world including the UK, India, East Africa and Latin America, focusing on early intervention but also campaigning with policy makers for lasting support.  Last year it reunited over 4,000 children in India with their families.  That's 4,000 great reasons for me to train hard over the coming weeks and months, and for you to sponsor me! 

Whatever you can sponsor, however great or small, will be fantastic and provide me with even more motivation for those early morning practices.
