We improve the lives of those with DMD to ensure those lives are no longer limited

Story

Hi!

On Sunday 27th May 2007, I will be taking part in a sponsored 75km cycle around London, to raise funds in aid of the Gavriel Meir Trust.

Training for the ride is going well... Riding every couple of days with Sunday being a longer ride - currently doing around 40kms on these rides.

The trust was recently established when a close friend of mine's son - 5 year old Gavriel Meir Rosenfeld - was diagnosed with a rare strain of Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy. This degenerative and as yet, incurable muscle wasting disease affects 1 in every 3500 males born.

Scientists estimate that they are 10 years away from identifying a cure for the DMD. But for boys like Gavriel who have already been diagnosed, this is just too long to wait. By raising funds for this crucial research, we hope to bring the time frame forward, finding a cure not only for the less common strain which Gavriel has, but for DMD as a whole.

Please donate generously to this urgent and worthwhile cause.

With much gratitude and appreciation.

And Thanks in advance.. - I look forward to keeping you informed on my training, the ride, and the total we'll have raised for research at the end of it!
