Story
* Dear Visitor,
* Having run this event a few years ago (along with the Herts 10K 2008 & 2009 and the Bournemouth Half Marathon) and Trekked the Great Wall of China (no, not all of it!) in 2007 for the Battersea Cats & Dogs Home and Age Concern respectively, I decided this year to run for the Official Race Charity; the Rainbow Trust Children's Charity which obviously is aimed at the other end of the age spectrum.
* The Rainbow Trust Children's Charity provides practical and emotional support to families who have a child with a life threatening or terminal illness. Rainbow Trust's Family Support Workers join the family in their own home and are there to provide practical support.
* Rainbow relies almost entirely on voluntary donations and through the generosity of their supporters, are able to help around 1,000 families a year.
* This is a fabulous charity and I would dearly like to help as much as I can, with the help of your support too.
* Being a competitive athlete I am hoping to beat my previous records in 10K events. Therefore, I am very willing to accept donations based on performance...don't worry I won't be keeping up with Kenyans!
I realise that several of you have been raising money for wonderful charities within recent weeks and that you are probably thinking 'not another one', so any donation, no matter how small, would be most appreciated.
