Hello..
In their wisdom my company have decided to run a charity hike for the benefit of Sue Ryder Care. It's 16 miles (yes, MILES) up Carnedd Llewelyn in Wales in the wind/rain (but I repeat myself).
Being the wise man that I am I've sussed that my mountaineering friends are unlikely to see a huge amount of sponsorship-worthy challenge in me going out to do the same sort of thing we do every trip anyway. However, my dislike of trudging up hills in the rain is pretty well known. Additionally, we're going to be camping rather than staying in a cushy hut somewhere AND I've got to do this the day after a 2 day residential work conference (implying a significant hangover).
The suffering alone has got to be worth a few quid! In all seriousness it is genuinely for a good cause - Sue Ryder Care look provide care services for people who have conditions from which they are not going to recover. Please have a look at their website ( http://www.suerydercare.org/pages/about_us.html ) for more information about the work they do.
Please remember to tick the giftaid thingy which makes sure that 25% in Gift Aid, plus a 3% supplement, are added to your donation.
Many thanks for all your support!
Andy
