Story

Argrghghgh! Done.. Finished. 3:59:11..b*gger.

I was well up for a good run this time - last year, having run it in 3:53ish I thought I would be faster. I was well on track for 3:45-48 and even conserved energy nearing the half way point feeling very relaxed (1:50 half marathon)... then it hit me... but not the wall this time. At mile 16-17 I started to get cramps, which became virtually uncontrollable by mile 19-20. That bl*ody weather man! Hmm 'broken cloud, becoming overcast 12-14deg C with heavy rain by the end of the marathon' - NOT!!  Salt tablets could have saved the day, but hey, tis done. Thankfully I was far from the only person getting into trouble. Still beat 4:00 so happy enough... I guess... sort of..ish ;)

Link at bottom of page to review history of split times and speeds... you will see the amasing tail-off towards the end.

THANK YOU FOR YOUR GENEROSITY !!

Well, here I am yet again...London Marathon number 4 on 26th April.

The London Marathon application process changed for this year and was open straight after the event last year... of course that caught me on a high from having just completed it and so I signed up. Hahaha, silly me! Needless to say, I've been a busy boy since then and on reflection timing could have been a little better. On top of everything else, along came our baby boy, Felix on 27th March... and I've been battling with nappies, feeding duty etc ever since, whilst trying to continue training for this (and grab a little sleep here and there)!.

Unfortunately there are sad bits too, which is why I decided I could not just run the marathon without attempting to raise money for Macmillan. Over the last year, for reasons unknown to me, I have known so many more people suffer with cancer. Some were relatives, others were close friends/work colleagues, or relatives of friends of mine. Many are still battling with the disease and it is charities like Macmillan which does so much to help those who are affected by it.  www.macmillan.org.uk/

I realise that most people have had to really tighten their belts recently, but I would SO VERY MUCH appreciate any money you could spare to sponsor me for this great cause.

TO TRACK ME IN THE RACE - FOLLOW THIS LINK (my race number is 8566 - Blue Start... that number should already be in the link). http://marathon.mhub3.net/MDB57F93987854/uk/LM_RunnerLocation.aspx?lmrid=8566
