On the 12th September 2010 I will be walking 5k at Gloucester Park Basildon Essex to raise money for St Lukes Hospice.

My sister was cared for there by the wonderful nurses and staff during her illness.

Christina was a fantastic, lovely peson and a great mum to Scott and Charley and wife to Gary. Last year she was diagnosed with colon cancer , in December she was told it was under control and she returned to work after Christmas. To our disbelief she was told this year the cancer had spread to her lungs and there was nothing the doctors could do. She was transferred to St Lukes Hospice where all the staff were attentive and caring to Chris , Gary , the children and all of the family who often visited her there. Chris died on Sunday 13th June 2010 with Gary by her side. My family will always be grateful to St Lukes for the care Chris recieved throughout her short stay, so we have chosen to do the walk/run together in Chris' memory.
