Yes, Steve and I are doing the Jane Tomlinson Run For All 10K in York again this year. Steve was a bit reluctant at first (“Will interfere with my cycle training etc etc...”), but I’ve managed to guilt-trip him into it. He’s been for just one run in the last year but, annoyingly, I know he’ll still finish in a faster time than me!

I’ve recently been helping a lovely lady called Angie Grinham with her charity campaign for the Macmillan nurses at York Hospital, www.winayorkwedding.co.uk. This being the case, Steve and I have decided to run the 10K in aid of this very worthy cause. I’m sure we’ve all been touched by cancer in some way, and the Macmillan nurses do an absolutely fantastic job every single day, helping both cancer sufferers and their families. All money raised will go directly to the Macmillan nurses' trust fund at the hospital.

As many of you will know, I’m also doing the Great North Run this year (glutton for punishment some might say), but won’t be collecting sponsorship for that, so this is the only time I’ll be getting out the begging bowl this year, promise! Please help by making a donation if you possibly can, no matter how small – it’s a well-worn cliché, but every little really does help.
