Story

On 3 July 2012, our twins Campbell and Isla Rose were born.  Isla Rose was still-born. Campbell, at five weeks early, needed specialist care for three weeks.  During this very difficult time, the staff in SCBU were unfailing in their care and support not just for Campbell, but for the whole family.  They helped us share some special times with our new son and brother, and also comforted us in our loss.

In recognition of the work that they do, we are raising funds for SCBU in Raigmore Hospital. In particular, we want to help fund the SCBU house which allows parents to stay on site at the hospital if their baby is in special care.  This was invaluable to us, as the alternative would have been to leave Campbell and return home every night, which was unthinkable to us at the time.  Also, the money raised will help to fund the photographic equipment for the unit, which allows photos to be taken of babies in their first hours for mothers to see, as it can be over 12 hours before they can go to SCBU if they have had a cesaerean section.  This equipment also allowed us to have treasured photographs of Isla Rose.

Please sponsor Anna to ski down the ‘White Lady’, the famous red run on Cairngorm Mountain.  Anna has been skiing since before she was two, and at four years old is now ready for the challenge of skiing solo down this demanding and iconic piste, accompanied by her sister Christa and dad Colin.

Thank you.

Colin, Vicki, Christa, Anna and Campbell
