Fundraising for Alzheimer's Society
Story
Thanks for visiting my fundraising page ! My family and I are doing a sponsored walk on Sunday 24th May to raise money for the Alzheimer's society. We aim to cross the 10 bridges of London starting at the Westminster Tower and finishing at the Tower of London. Your support would be greatly appreciated.
We want to raise as much money as we possibly can for a cause which is very close to our hearts as my Nana (pictured above) has been suffering with Alzheimer's disease for the past five years. There are over 700,000 people across the UK who are suffering from this disease and there is unfortunately no cure.
The effect that this disease has on the individual families is traumatic and we feel like we are grieving for my Nana even though she is still here with us but is slowly forgetting who we are and is losing all dignity in the process.
We would like to raise as much money as we possibly can for the Alzheimer's society as every day they help people like my Nana and support families such as ours. Through their research programme they work to improve the knowledge we have about dementia and constantly persue the ultimate goal of finding a cure.
Any money that you can donate would be greatly appreciated by all of us and if anyone wants to join us in a ridiculously long walk around London town then please let me know !
