It's exciting and nerve racking to think I've taken on this challenge and it's fast approaching!!

Running a marathon has been one of those things that I have always said, “one day, some day I’ll do that” but like quite a few things it never quite comes around… so I’ve began tackling these dreams! 

My one day is now April 13th 2008 and the marathon is the Flora London Marathon!!!

I’m going to need all your support… I have completed a half marathon before in June this year but hobbled over the line in a pretty pitiful 2 hr 29mins!  I’ve got 4 months of training to reach my goal of 4 hr 30mins!

I’ve chosen a really great charity to give me the extra motivation not to give up and to help make a difference and it’s Phabkids!

Phab aims to promote and encourage people with and without physical disabilities to come together on equal terms, to achieve complete integration within the wider community and to make more of life together.

All money raised will go to supporting a network of over 200 clubs. Phab clubs provide valuable support for families, and carers helping them overcome feelings of isolation. All members of the same family can belong to the same club and they are able to enjoy events and activities together and with others.

With your help Phabkids fund and organise residential holidays for disabled and non disabled children. Phab also encourages and helps support self reliance in young people and helps to enhance their living skills and abilities

Activities range from sailing and orienteering to theatre visits and quiz evenings. By meeting on equal terms, members appreciate and respect one another as individuals, irrespective of any differences or disabilities.

What’s more Mum, Dad and my little sis Michelle are flying over… Mum and Michelle are partaking with Dad the loyal cheerleader!!
