Story
Its that time of the year when gallant elderly Teddington Antlers embark on their annual challenge. Having previously tamed the Thames and stormed Paris, this year we aim to conquer the River Severn in Katakanu's. Starting on June 7th we will take a week to paddle 132 miles from Welshpool to Gloucester through fast moving rapids and fish infested waters, sleeping under the stars in desolate beer gardens. As ever its not just a jolly, we aim to combine the Antlers extended family spirit with a meaningful purpose. This year it has become a very personal matter with the added incentive of Linda's illness. She has been an inspirational member of our club for many years and made our choice of charity a formality, so please give generously.
Day 1 - 23 miles completed.
Day 2 - 42 miles completed. Near death experience in surging rapids!
Day 3 - 67 miles, intrepid crew master Jackfield Rapids and reach Bridgenorth.
Day 4 - 88 miles. Well earned rest at Hampstall
Day 5 - 109 miles. Very wet night under canvas in Upton on Severn.
Day 6 - Gloucester at last despite standoff with lockkeeper at Tewkesbury! Silly man expected us to have a licence and life jackets etc!
