Story
Last week, five members of Aon Crisis Management spent two days at Sandhurst to raise money for Help for Heroes. We had no idea what we'd let ourselves in for!
Competing against 11 other teams, we spent two days charging over the hills with maps & a compass, getting lost and carrying our 'hero' (a stretcher piled with sandbags). We 'made stuff' with pipes, planks, sticks and ropes, built a raft and rowed it across a lake, threw ourselves over the army assault course and ran about 100 miles (slight exaggeration but that's what it felt like).
After coming in 7th at the end of day one the team made an incredible effort on day two and finished ahead of the Thames Valley Police in 3rd place!
Special mention to Simon for joining at very short notice, for Lee's amazing knot tying skills and to all in the team for keeping going to the point of collapse. We're all now hobbling around the office covered in bruises.
The money raised is going to Help for Heroes - one of Aon's nominated charities for 2010. Help for Heroes supports our wounded service men and women and we would be so grateful for any donation you can give.
Photos will be posted up here asap!
