HOLA !

This February Emmy and I will be taking part in a dog-sledding expedition in the Arctic to raise money for Battersea Dogs and Cats home. It's a great cause. The home is funded 100% by donations from the public, with no government support.

Where are we going? No idea, somewhere extremely north, in Norway. Take a look at the itinerary below and if you find these places on the map please let me know.

Surrounded by frozen landscape 3oo miles north of the Arctic Circle we will be covering over 200kms dressed in arctic suits, hanging on for our lives, enduring average temperatures of -20C.

We will be sacrificing a week of hairdryers, makeup, warm duvets, and running water, among other basic necessities. It will be tough, freezing, and tough. All of this for our cute fluffy friends at Battersea. Please dig deep, any amount you can spare will be greatly appreciated.

We will be covering the travel costs so all money donated will go straight to the charity.

BASIC ITINERARY

Day 1 Fly to Oslo, no time to shop, then to Alta in the far north. Expedition brief in the hot tub

Day 2 Meet the doggies. Dog Sledding to the Beskades mountain range and camp in Skoganvarre

Day 3 Dog Sledding to Bingis

Day 4 Dog Sledding to Soussjavre through reindeer country

Day 5 Dog Sledding to Jotka and across the hopefully frozen Lesjari, the largest lake in the Norwegian Arctic

Day 6 Dogsledding to Detsika, passing through the largest gorge in Europe, and straight into the Ice Hotel bar for cocktails

Day 7 Cross-country skiing for some, manicures for others... 

Day 8 Head back to London via Oslo. Who is on for dinner Saturday 25 February?
