This December 2010 I, Augustina Asare, will be climbing Kilimanjaro to raise money for Afrikids- I have every intention of reaching the top. I’ll be especially spurred on by the fact that this is a very worthy cause!

AfriKids is a Child Rights Organisation which works alongside indigenous communities in to improve the lives of their most vulnerable children and communities as a whole.

      -Ensure absolute sustainability

 

They are a totally transparent charity – you really get to see and hear what your money is going to – and the fact that they are focussed on long-term sustainability, not short-term fixes.  In fact one of their unique features is that they have a plan to put their branch out of business, and to leave Ghana Afrikids self-sustaining within 10 years.
