Story

On May the 29th 2010, Richard Adams, Stephen Young and Anders Sjostrom are heading into the to undertake our biggest walk yet in aid of the Great North Air Ambulance service.

Starting just south of Pooley Bridge at the crack of dawn - we trek along the Highstreet mountain range all the way South to Kirkstone Pass before heading back North towards Threlkeld via the Helvellyn range.  The walk involves a 4am start, 30 miles of walking over 25 mountain peaks totalling over 10,000 feet of accent.

The walk has now been completed.  Setting off from Roehead on the 29th at 3.45am, we reached our final summit (Cloughhead) at 19.30 and met Sonya Deugo, Sue Adams and Mike Ford at the cars at Wanthwaite Bridge at 20.30.  The weather lived up to the forecast with heavy mist, rain and wind - creating some of the worst weather conditions I've walked in.

Thanks to everyone who have donated so far and for those who are planning to donate once we completed the task.  A special thanks to Mike Ford who left home at 7am and waited for 2 hours at Kirkstone Pass with food and drink and then waited again at the end of the walk.  The three of us appreciated it.

The Great North Air Ambulance receives no Government funding and is entirely reliant on donations to continue their life saving service.  Please by pledge your support by contributing whatever you can afford.
