Story
As many of you know, my Mother Estelle has Leukaemia. Around 4 years ago, she was told by a Specialist that she had 3 years left to live. It transpired that the lucky old bird has one of the few types of Leukaemia (Chronic Myeloid) for which there is a relatively straightforward treatment. Ever since she was diagnosed, mum has been taking a single Glivec tablet every day, and the symptoms of the disease have faded. The reason that this cure exists, and therefore the reason my mum is still buying me socks every Christmas, is because of the research and development work of organisations such as Leukaemia Research.
As a way of showing my gratitude, I have decided to do something painful to raise a nice wedge of cash for Leukaemia Research. I can't punch Leukaemia in the face, but I can race it!
Ballardo vs Leukaemia: 3 Half-Marathons in 4 weeks! I will race at least one friend in each event.
1. Tunbridge Wells (Kent) Half-Marathon - Sun 28th Feb 2010 vs Jim Holt
2. Trionium Leith (Surrey) Half-Marathon & Wife-Carrying Race - Sun 7th March 2010 vs Dom Mesiti & Andrew Henville
3. Hastings (Sussex) Half-Marathon - Sun 21st March 2010 vs John Baker & Jon Ballard
Please donate some money in support, through this site. I am looking to raise at least £2,000 for Leukaemia Research.
Ballardo vs Leukaemia - there can be only one!
Love,
Chris
