Story

He's clobbered Kangaroos and battered Bulls but Barrie McDermott it set for his biggest test yet; 100 miles in just five days!
Rhinos legend Barrie McDermott in conjunction with the Rhinos official radio station Radio Aire and Feel Good Leeds, will be walking 20 miles a day from 16th July until 20th July to raise money for the Kids Count Trust and Leeds Rugby Foundation.
There are two ways fans are able to sponsor Barrie on his mammouth journey. Either pledge online here at Justgiving.com or by texting BARRIESWALK to 82189 which will automatically donate £1.50 to the walk fund and fans can text donations as many times as they like.

When is it?
Barrie will be walking 20 miles a day for five days from Monday 16th July through to Friday 20th July. Starting each morning at Radio Aire on Kirkstall Road and finishing on the final day at Headingley Carnegie Stadium in time for the Rhinos game against Wakefield that night.

What is it for?
The walk is to raise funds for two local Leeds charities which aim to improves the lives of thousands of local children and young people; the Kids Count Trust and the Leeds Rugby Foundation
Kids Count Trust is the official charity of 96.3 Radio Aire and Magic 828, registered charity (1119842). Every year we aim to raise thousands of pounds for local children in West Yorkshire who are suffering from abuse, neglect, disability, poverty, distress or simply need extra care or guidance. Kids Count Trust is also unique in that it helps individuals as well as children's charities and charitable projects.
Kids Count Trust relies on the generosity of the local community to help benefit the thousands of children in our region who require charitable support.

Leeds Rugby Foundation
is a registered charity in England and Wales, charity number 1112580. Leeds Rugby Foundation is run by an independent board of Trustees under the Chairmanship of David Oxley, former Chairman of the Rugby Football League.
The charity's objects are for the benefit of the public generally and, in particular, the inhabitants of Leeds and Yorkshire and its surrounding areas.
To promote community participation in healthy recreation by providing facilities for the playing of rugby union, rugby league and other sports capable of improving health (facilities in this clause 3 means land, buildings, equipment and organising sporting activities).
To provide and assist in providing facilities for sport, recreation or other leisure time occupation of such persons who have need for such facilities by reason of their youth, age, infirmity or disablement, poverty or social and economic circumstances or for the public at large in the interests of social welfare and with the object of improving their conditions of life.

How far is Barrie walking?
In total Barrie will cover 100 miles, with him walking 20 miles each day.

Can I join in?
Barrie will be joined my celebrities from the Leeds Rhinos, Leeds Carnegie and Yorkshire CCC squads over the course of the week along with members of the cast of Emmerdale. However, you can raise funds in other ways.
