I have completed the Flora London marathon 2009!! My time was a stonking 5hours 25mins and 56 secs...

I get inspiration from my Dad who is quite mad, and still aiming to get back to running to set some new MV70 records despite having had two hip replacements. Age 50 he ran the London marathon in under 3 hours, and then age 52 just cruised around in 3:07 as his farewell to marathon running.  So taking after my Dad, I believe running a marathon is something I must achieve while on this planet, and what better race to run in....and what better reason than to raise some much needed funds for CHASE.

CHASE provide help, support and friendship to families with children and young people who are not expected to live beyond their 19th birthday. They enable these children and their families to live as full lives as possible, creating special memories and ensuring that every single day counts. The journey families share with CHASE continues from diagnosis of the child's condition through to bereavement and beyond. It is a relationship that can last many years and without which many families would find it impossible to cope. The stories of the children helped by CHASE really touched me, in a recent visit to meet the fundraising team; I count myself so fortunate to have two very healthy boys, so this is my way to give something to others who really need this support.
