Story
I have always cherished Indian Classical Dance. I started learning Kathak, a traditional form of North Indian dance, with Lacchu Maharaj (a legendary Dance Master) when I was 3 years old. I continued to dance till my early teens and then changed my goal to becoming a doctor. I drifted away from my passion of dancing, in my stride to being a dedicated doctor to serve patients.
My passion to learn kathak got rekindled after seeing youngsters perform beautiful dances. I have been dancing again for 3 years now, and will be participating in the annual performance of SBDC, at The Pentland Theatre, Finchley.
Whilst getting prepared for the dance performance I got an acute slipped disc and was out of action for 6 weeks. However, I took this as a challenge and to set an example that being positive, active and perseverant can help one to successfully face and fight any difficult situation. 6 weeks after my ailment, I managed to dance and am back at work. Where there is a will there's a way.
I would like to take this opportunity and make it a fundraising event to help the good cause and also Help Smile Trust as always. Help Smile Trust has several projects in supporting the needy, underprivileged and deserving children in Asia and Africa. Please join me to make this venture a success, and encourage me to continue with my dreams.
