Sunday 13th June 2010 - Update on yesterday's sporting event!
It was a close one! but I managed to do the whole 3.1 miles around Redhill, with five stops on the way to meet members of the Friends of Jesus groups - NO cake was consumed.... (unfortunately!) but I did go out for a huge cooked breakfast to celebrate.
Thank you all for your very kind donations. I am not only delighted that you have given so generously but more importantly that you have agreed that "Wheels for the world" is a very worthwhile chairty! Please feel free to see if you can beat my impressive sporting endeavour!
With MANY thanks for your support!

Pre-event info!
It's THE sporting event of the year!
12th June 2010
it's the Bethan Jackson sporty stroll around Redhill - ta da!
Please help me to raise some money for "Wheels for the World" which is the international arm of the "Through the Roof" charity. Wheels for the World is a wonderful charity as its mission is to collect previously used wheelchairs, refurbish them at Parkhurst Prison and distribute them to people in developing countries who have no freedom of movement. I support this charity because of its three-pronged goals: to recycle, to give prisoners in the UK a means of giving back to society and building their self-esteem and thirdly, transforming the lives of disabled people in developing countries.
At my local church I help out with the Friends of Jesus group, a group of adults with learning disabilities. As a group we are organising many events to support Wheels of the World. Some of our members experience mobility difficulties and we are determined to help make life easier for other people.
My aim was to do a sponsored run of three and a half miles, visiting on route, the homes of the group's members. However, lack of self discipline has led to the event becoming a sponsored stroll...... I do hope that even though I won't be breaking into as much of a sweat as anticipated, you will still sponsor me and support this very worthwhile cause
Thank you for your support and below is the standard garb from the just-giving website.
