Thanks for taking the time to visit our JustGiving page.
On Saturday, 19th February 2011 at The Grafton Centre, Cambridge;
18 Martial Arts students from the many ‘BL Tae Kwon-Do Schools’ across Cambridgeshire, Suffolk and Essex, performed 1000 Tae Kwon-Do kicks each in support of Help For Heroes.
Working in pairs, they each completed over 1000 Tae Kwon-Do kicks against martial arts kick-pads to raise as much money as possible for Help For Heroes. Their partner holding the pad was counting and recording how many kicks were completed.
Only Tae Kwon-Do kicking techniques were allowed and onlookers witnessed a wonderful assortment of Snap-kicks, Side-kicks, Turning-kicks, spinning kicks & jumping kicks; some of which were performed at over 6 feet off the ground!
This was a real test of all the students’ stamina, perseverance and indomitable spirit!
Tim Smith, 3rd Dan Instructor at BL Taekwondo Schools, said, “This was not a walk in the park for any of the participants. During a normal one and half hour Tae Kwon-Do lesson, a student would on average, do about 100 kicking techniques; however they worked very hard and all completed over 1000 kicks each. It was a great day and an excellent excuse to have some fun and raise some money for Help for Heroes at the same time!”
We would also like to thank local business, Blazetech Fire Protection for sponsoring us and supplying ‘Commemorative Medals’ to all those that took part.
If people still wish to make donations and boost this total even further, this online fundraising page will be available until 31st March 2011.
