We unlock our disabled students' potential to help change their lives for their future

Story

Thank you for visiting BLP's fundraising page.

We are cycling from Cork to Dublin (approximately 236 miles) to raise money for Treloar Trust which provides education, therapy, medical support and training in independence for young people with physical disabilities. The aim of the Trust is to give students the opportunity to develop their confidence and skills to enable them to achieve their potential in all aspects of life.

All of the sponsorship money raised from the bike ride will go to support Treloar's Pushing the Boundaries programme which sends groups of students from Treloar School to specialist activity centres for an adrenaline packed week when even the most disabled students can have an opportunity to experience a wide variety of outdoor challenges including abseiling, climbing, sailing, zip wire (all in a wheelchair), orienteering and canoeing. As well as the physical challenge, confidence-building, communication, trust, responsibility, team-working, safe risk-taking and coping in new situations are all on the agenda, plus an academic dimension, with the course work undertaken contributing to a variety of nationally recognised qualifications.

We think that Pushing the Boundaries is a wonderful programme, providing an amazing opportunity for the students. Every £1,000 that we raise from the bike ride will fund a place on the programme for a Treloar's student.

Many thanks for your support.
