Story
It's been a devastating time in Nepal. Thousands have died or been injured and many have lost their loved ones. Homes have been destroyed and people are struggling with basic nessesitiies such as clean water and sanitation. Already narrow roads have been further hindered with the rubble from collapsed buildings and giant unpassable cracks, making the relief effort even more difficult. Hospitals are spilling over with casualties to the point where the rubble filled streets are being used as make shift wards and it is uncertain just how many people are still trapped. The 7.9 magnitude quake has truely shaken Nepal and the government has declared a state of emergency.
Nepal is one of the poorest countries in the world and is totally unprepared for a natural disaster of this scale, both financially and in terms of infrastructure. This is why I am trying to raise money to support the relief efforts in the aftermath of this disaster. I am pleading with you to support the people of Nepal with whatever you can, even a small amount can, and will go a long way. It will help provide water, food and shelter to victims that have lost absolutely everything.
I am also collecting through http://gogetfunding.com/project/bounce-back-nepal (Please copy & paste URL) to help people from a village known as 'Khokana' which lies on the southern outskirts of Kathmandu. This village is closest to my heart as my great grandparents were from here. This is one of the poorest village near Kathmandu where it feels that the time had stopped there. There is nothing left of this village and few people who have survived are facing huge sanitation problem and dying because of diarrhoea. Portion of this fund will also go towards those who are desperately in need urgently.
Let's all come together to help people in Nepal to bounce back.
Thank you for your kind donations.
Peace and love,
Abhilasha Singh(Avi)
