Story
Garry and I are doing the coast to coast bike ride with some mates. We are starting on Saturday 2 August on the west Coast in Cumbria to (hopefully) arrive 140 miles, and some big hills, later on the east coast some time on Monday afternoon
We are hoping to raise some money for the Newcastle Hospitals Charity who have Sir Bobby Robson as their main patron.
The funds raised for this charity go towards providing facilities for cancer care and clinical trials at the Freeman Hospital in Newcastle. The Freeman treated me dad Tommy for bowel cancer before he died in 2000, so although it's taken me a while to get round to it (as per usual most people will say), we want to try to raise some cash for the hospital in his memory.
I haven't done any training for this event but I did stay off the beer for nearly 3 weeks and curries for nearly 2 weeks so you can tell I'm treating this as seriously as Lance Armstong did his 7 Tours de France.
So dig deep for the ginger(ish) King of the mountains and his lad.
Cheers
Brendan and Garry
