Story
A stunning array of local musicians are joining forces for a free charity music festival in May.
The event will be held across three venues over the weekend of 16th-18th May 2014:
Friday 16th May @ The Bank Tavern, 5pm – 12am
Saturday 17th May @ The Blue Lagoon, 12 pm – 1am
Sunday 18th May @ The Golden Guinea, 7pm – 11pm
The event returns, following the success of two years as the ‘Bristol Macmillathon’. Originally organised as a charity fundraiser and end of chemotherapy celebration for one of the organisers, the team have since raised thousands of pounds for Macmillan.
This year’s event is in support of CoppaFeel – a breast cancer awareness charity set up to educate young people on the importance of knowing the signs and symptoms of breast cancer.
Nearly 50,000 men and women are diagnosed with breast cancer in the UK every year. The charity was set up by Kris Hallenga, who was mis-diagnosed twice at age 23, and now lives with secondary breast cancer in the form of inoperable tumors.
The charity’s mission is simple: ‘To live in a world where no one dies of breast cancer because of late detection or misdiagnosis’.

As well as 24 hours of the finest local musicians, there will be face painting, boob cakes, a raffle and ‘Best of Bristol’ CDs for sale.
The organisers will be encouraging everyone attending to ‘CoppaFeel’, as breast awareness really could save your life.
